John J.
Burke

Mr. Burke has a depth of business experience that began following his honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Burke owned and operated one of the top insurance agencies in the industry, reaching the pinnacle “Top of the Table” status in the early 1980’s. This recognition is only awarded to the top one percent (1%) of the insurance industry, based on sales performance. Mr. Burke’s cliental have included investment bankers, state, county, and local government employees, municipalities and 56 police unions including but not limited to; the Metropolitan Police Conference, the New York State Troopers PBA, the Nassau and Suffolk County Detectives Endowment Association, Nassau County PBA, and the Suffolk County PBA.
During his career John Burke’s company has had over six billion dollars
($6,000,000,000.00) of insurance in effect.
Since 1986, while still running his insurance business, Mr. Burke
expanded his business scope and engaged in several highly successful
business enterprises including being the principal owner of a minor
league baseball team. The team
formerly named the Savannah Cardinals (then a minor league affiliate of
the St. Louis Cardinals) played in the South Atlantic League.
Mr. Burke also owned a freight company and developed residential
real estate.
Mr. Burke has assembled a diverse team of business professionals to
provide guidance and advice regarding the proposed Vintage Square
Transit Oriented Development.

Thomas W. Gahan Vice President / Director of Operations

Mr. Gahan brings more than 30 years of experience in implementing and managing organization’s policies, objectives, and initiatives in private industry. His dynamic work has been cited through various awards from the U.S. Congress, the Town of Riverhead and numerous organizations including the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce which bestowed Mr. Gahan with the coveted "Gold Key" award which is presented annually to one individual that has made a lasting contribution to the community. |

George Smith Vice President of Public Relations

Mr. Smith in 1969 began his executive and television production career with NBC Sports. After a ten year career with NBC, he became tbe first freelance producer for ESPN and has produced television for virtually every area of major league sports including the NFL, MBA, NBA, Pro Tennis and NCAA basketball and football. In the 1980's he packaged all television programming for ESPN that included Pro Bowling and various college basketball All-Star games. Mr. Smith then went on to produce or package for every major television group including; CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX Sports, ESPN, HBO, TBS and TNT. |

Victor J. Prusinowski Board of Advisors (Municipal Consultant)

Mr. Prusinowski served for 16 years as a Riverhead Town Councilman and therefore is fully cognizant and sensitive to the procedures and action the Town Board must take on for a project such as Vintage Square. Mr. Prusinowski's other notable achievements and experiences include: 1996 Riverhead News Review "Person of the Year" for outstanding community service, 1996 National Association of Towns & Villages leadership award, one of only 4 awarded in New York State, Suffolk County Farmland Preservation Committee from 1979 thru 1988, Suffolk County Court Complex Selection Committee from 1984 thru 1986, former member of the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, East End Arts Council from 1990 thru 1997 and lifetime member of the Riverhead Polishtown Civic Association. Mr. Prusinowski has recently joined Prudential Commercial Real Estate as a Licensed Sales Associate and Real Estate advisor. |

Edwin M. (Buzz) Scwhenk Board of Advisors

Mr. Schwenk's public relations
firm Omnibuzz is a nationally recognized and widely respected lobbying
company representing municipalities and towns around the country. Mr.
Schwenk, a noted East End businessman, was the Executive Director of the
Long Island Builders Institute from 1982 thru 1992 and the former Suffolk
County Republican Party Chairman from 1967 thru 1978. He is dedicated to
public service and championed the two percent (2%) real estate transfer
tax for land preservation which has raised over $200 million in the last
four years - most of which has gone to the East End towns. |
